Atari Landfill Discovered

Remember back in the 80’s when it was rumored that Atari had truckloads of unsold games (such as the infamous E.T.), so they buried them out in the middle of a desert somewhere?

Turns out it’s true.

IGN reports that a documentary crew recently began searching for clues in the Alamogordo, New Mexico landfill where the games were allegedly dumped.

Today, the crew found a copy of E.T. for the Atari 2600, complete with the box, manual, and various paper inserts.

Whether there are literally truckloads of the game remains to be seen.

The documentary will air at a future date on Xbox One.

My Opinion:

This is the kind of news you can phone home. After decades of rumors, we now know that there actually are a bunch of terrible video games buried in the desert. The truth really is out there.
