Mario Kart Gets 666% Boost

According to Ukie.info, the Wii U has received a 666% boost in hardware sales in the UK.

82% of this boost came from the Mario Kart 8 bundle.  Mario Kart was also the 2nd best selling game in the UK last week.  It is worth nothing that this came on a short week since the game released on Friday.

This is the 2nd best week 1 in the Mario Kart series and the best week 1 of any Wii U game as of yet. With all of these sales being in the UK, we have yet to see how big of a global impact Mario Kart 8 has had.

 My Opinion:

As a Wii U owner, this makes me very happy to see.  The Wii U has been written off by many people, but I am hopeful that a big title like this can breath some life into it. With Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Brothers, and the eventual Zelda, I believe the Wii U can have some success down the line much like the 3DS has done late in it’s life.

  1. I would have bought a new Wii U if I hadn’t figured out how to charge my gamepad without plugging it directly into the adapter. Luckily I had the charge cradle in a drawer. Saved me like $300.
