PlayStation Now, the streaming service being implemented by Sony, will be beginning its open beta on July 31st. The open beta will roll out first on the PS4, while the PS3 and Vita will be incorporated soon after. Select Sony televisions will also be included into the PlayStation Now beta so long as the user has a DualShock 3 controller.
The beta will include over 100 PS3 titles including Dead Space 3, God of War: Ascension, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, and Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus.
Sony made sure to let everyone know that the open beta will greatly influence how the service functions. While little is currently known about pricing, more information will hopefully be revealed later in the week.
I have been waiting so long for this service because it seems like such a unique thing that only PlayStation will be able to provide. This service could also be a godsend for people transitioning from Xbox to PlayStation who maybe didn’t own a PS3 and want to get caught-up on some of the older exclusives. I want this to function like Netflix, a flat 15-20 bucks a month for unlimited play, but that might be a pipe-dream.
