Nintendo has once again tipped its hand about upcoming Legend of Zelda games–this time about the development of an upcoming 3DS title.
During Nintendo’s latest Shareholder General Meeting and Q&A session, Shigeru Miyamoto was asked when new information related to the upcoming Wii U Zelda would be revealed. While his response didn’t answer the question, it did speak to a possible unannounced 3DS title:
” [We] are gradually changing the structure of The Legend of Zelda series, and we are preparing to newly evolve the series for Wii U. In addition to that, we have ideas for Nintendo 3DS which we have not announced yet, so I hope you will look forward to them.”
Nintendo is well known for their vague hints and clues — this one is no exception. There is no clear cut meaning to this statement; “ideas for Nintendo 3DS” could mean anything. Some may speculate this may be Grezzo’s (The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D) next assignment; they have been remarkably silent (short of a new StreetPass DLC, Flower Town) and could possibly be working on that Majora’s Mask remake. Or maybe this is something new altogether. Or maybe this is just 3DS/Wii U functionality. Guess we are just going to have to wait it out.
