Xbox One’s August update rolls out next week for early access users and includes an improved activity feed, remote downloading, and 3-D Blu-ray functionality.
Update 1408 will allow Xbox owners to download games and apps through their smart-phone or computer on Xbox.com. However, this function only works when the Xbox One is set to automatically turn on.
The update also includes 3-D Blu-ray functionality, and a number of improvements to the Xbox One’s social features. Players will be able to like, comment, and post on your activity feed items as well as share game clips.
The updated interface will also have a more expansive friends list on the home screen and alert players when their controller batteries are running low.
Even though the update will release next week for early access users, Microsoft has not revealed the exact date of the update’s release for everyone else.
For more information on the August update be sure to check out the full details on Xbox Wire.
While I enjoy Microsoft’s continued support for the Xbox One with monthly updates, I think a lot of these updates should have been available day one. Despite this, it is great to see how much the Xbox One’s user interface has improved for the better since its release.
