EA Announce EA Access Exclusively For Xbox One

Electronic Arts announced EA Access yesterday on Tuesday, a new subscription program exclusively for Xbox One.

Membership costs $4.99 for a month or $29.99 a year. Members will receive games from the vault which currently include FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, Peggle 2 and Battlefield 4, with EA promising more games to be added later on.

Members will also get a trial version of EA games five days before their release, with the progress from the trial version continuing to the full version of the game. Members can also enjoy 10% off all purchases and DLC.

Currently, EA Access is in beta, and only members of the Xbox One Preview Beta can have access the beta. Although, EA is promising for the full version to be released soon.

My Opinion:

This is a brilliant idea! To the point that I have already subscribed. And I find it ridiculous that Sony didn’t also accept this. And also, I get to play FIFA 15 five days early which is always a bonus! I’m just happy that EA has decided to upgrade the Season Pass from last generation, and make it a million times better!

  1. Sony didn’t accept this because they don’t need to. PS+ is just the better option. Why create competition with yourself?

      1. For last generation consoles, I would say no. However for the current generation consoles I’m not too sure about, it’s possible but I doubt it. I see this as a program for new games — with the discounts and early access — rather than the games from the vault. Though, we’ll have to wait and see!

    1. Yet last year Sony claimed that they were for the gamers and choice was the best option so why not let gamers have this choice? Microsoft did even with their GwG program, why not Sony?

Also. I don’t see this as a competition to PS+; You need PS+ to play online, you don’t need EA Access to play online. If anything EA Access is closer to PS Now and even then it not really that close. PS Now is for every game and a rental service, EA Access is only for EA games and has discounts, early access to new releases, and some games from the vault- which is the only thing like PS Now or PS+/GwG.
