Destiny Goes Gold

As of today, the final retail version of Destiny is being printed to discs and boxed, meaning that it has officially gone gold.

Bungie shared in a weekly update that “discs are being pressed and packed into crates.”  Even though Destiny is done, the update went on to say that, “It feels like we’re just getting started.”

However, when Destiny hits shelves players will not be able to trade equipment.  Bungie was not clear on whether not this is a feature that will be added in the future or not.

During Sony’s Gamescom press conference, Eric Hirschberg, the CEO of Activision, announced that Destiny holds the record for the highest pre-ordered new IP.

Destiny launches September 9, 2014 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.

My Opinion:

Normally I tend to ignore the news about games going gold, but I am hyped for Destiny.  Especially with the release so close, any news coming out of Bungie gets me more and more excited.  On top of that, it is reassuring to know that Destiny will hit its target release date!
