Minecraft Hits PlayStation 4 Today

After rumors, delays, and leaks, the indie phenomenon Minecraft is finally available for PlayStation 4 owners, with an Xbox One version launching tomorrow.

The game was slated for release in late August, however, after failing certification for the PlayStation Network, the port got delayed.

Those who purchased Minecraft on a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 will have the option to upgrade to the current generation version for $4.99, otherwise it is $19.99.

A current generation port for Minecraft was originally announced last year for Xbox One.  Though the game is primarily the same, players who purchase Minecraft for their PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will enjoy larger maps and greater draw distances.

No information was given on the PlayStation Vita version, other than that it is still in development.

My Opinion:

Finally!  Even though I am a bit burned out on Minecraft, I am more than willing to jump back in on a next gen console, especially for a $4.99 price tag.  It seems like this was announced a long time ago, but fans can finally rest easy knowing that Minecraft has made the jump to current gen.
