Glen Schofield (head of Sledgehammer Studios) took to Twitter yesterday to call the recent leaked gameplay footage of their upcoming game Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare a “Bummer.”
Footage of the upcoming shooter was leaked via Twitch, where a PS4 user who had obtained an early copy was streaming gameplay. The streamed gameplay gave away various details about the upcoming game, including a DNA Bomb reward for obtaining a 30 person killstreak.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare releases Monday, November 3rd on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
My Opinion:
I agree with Schofield, spoilers do suck. Just one slipped detail can ruin something fans have been waiting on for months, even years. That being said, the harsh reality of our media oversaturated world is that spoilers are everywhere. Sadly, unless you live in a soundproof box, the risk of spoilers is ever present. It is something we just have to account for these days. What I do feel Schofield should be thankful for is that out of all the things that could have been leaked, the released details have been pretty minor. I have a feeling there are a lot more surprises in store for the dedicated fanbase of the Call of Duty franchise.
