Evolve Open Beta Will Be Exclusive to Xbox One

This January, Xbox One owners will be able to get a taste of the new content in Evolve during an exclusive open beta.

The beta will start at 3 AM PST/ 6 AM EST on Thursday, January 15th, and will end on January 19, 2015.

For the first two days of the beta, players will have the chance to play Evolve‘s “Hunt” mode, and be able to unlock additional Hunters. During the final two days, the new “Evacuation” mode will be unlocked for the public to experience for the first time.

Evolve is scheduled to release on February 15, 2015 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

My Opinion:

I have mixed feelings about this decision by Turtlerock. While certainly very cool for Xbox One users, PlayStation users are surely going to feel alienated by this implied favoritism by the developer. I feel that having the beta on both consoles would have been a much better decision in the long run. Especially after the dismal Alpha experience PlayStation users had.
