The Halo 5 Multiplayer Beta Is Finally Here

The long anticipated Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta officially begins today for players who have purchased Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Scheduled to begin at 9 am PST / 12 pm EST, the open beta will feature the first two maps, Empire and Truth, previously seen by Early Access users earlier this month.

The beta will be held until January 18th, during which new content will be regularly released and added into the mix for players to experience as the beta progresses. This new content will include an additional five maps and the all new Breakout mode for players to experience for the first time.

Breakout is an all new gametype in Halo 5 – players will only have one life per round and are tasked with eliminating the entire other team before they are eliminated themselves. Reminiscent to classic paintball, this mode was originally meant for Halo 4, but was ultimately cut late in production.

Halo 5: Guardians is expected to release exclusively for the Xbox One in 2015.

My Opinion:

I am really excited for this beta! I was fortunate enough to get a taste of the beta earlier this month, and I am already addicted to the new gameplay 343 has introduced to the in-game universe. I think many people will really enjoy what this beta has to offer the fans of the series. Hopefully I will see you guys in the Arena!
