CD Projekt Red Gives Update on Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red has provided an update on Cyberpunk 2077, but it may not be the kind of update you were hoping for.

Speaking to GameSpot, CD Projekt Red’s head of marketing and PR Michal Platkow-Gilewski said that the studio “are now focusing on The Witcher: The Wild Hunt.” This probably means that most of the developers are working on finishing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, leaving a small team to continue working on Cyberpunk.

He also mentions that gamers should “Worry not, Cyberpunk 2077 is OK, its time will come.” Presumably, CD Projekt Red will shift their full focus back to the game once development on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is complete, considering the studio previously mentioned that the upcoming open-world RPG would be the final Witcher game.

CD Projekt Red has built up quite the pedigree, considering fans can’t wait for both of their upcoming releases. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is scheduled for release on May 19, 2015, after suffering another delay. You can find more info on the game at our Witcher 3 hub.

Cyberpunk 2077 will follow afterwards at an unannounced time. If you haven’t heard of the game or just need a refresher on the game, check out the reveal trailer from early 2013 below:

My Opinion:

I guess I’m not surprised. My hype levels for both of the aforementioned games are over 9000, so as long as I get one of them this year, I’ll survive. I understand that CD Projekt Red only has so many resources. Honestly, I just want more details on Cyberpunk 2077. I’ve been dying for more information since it was first revealed. Just watching the reveal trailer again gets me super hyped. Insert Colbert “Give it to me now!” gif.
