Smite Beta Coming Soon to Xbox One

Hi-Rez Studios, the developer behind the popular multiplayer online battle arena game Smite: Battleground of the Gods, has announced that players can now apply for the upcoming Xbox One beta.

If you enjoy playing MOBAs, but think you would love them even more if you could play with a controller, then you should go apply! Signups are being taken here. The open beta doesn’t have a set date, but if you apply, you’ll be thrown into a pool and the fine folks at Hi-Rez will randomly select players to participate.

For those unfamiliar with the game, Smite is a different take on the MOBA genre where deities fight in 5 versus 5 matches. According to the game’s official site, Smite incorporates a third-person point of view with a focus on action, whereas most MOBAs utilize a bird’s eye view.

Smite is free-to-play on PC and will presumably be the same when it releases on Xbox One, whenever that may be. Considering it’s already in beta, it’s looking on track for a release some time this year. Follow MONG to stay up-to-date on all the Smite news you need!

My Opinion:

Whether you’re a fan of MOBAs or not, it’s always good news when more games move into beta and take another step towards final release! I signed up for the beta because I remember a co-worker talking about how all she played was Smite on PC. Hopefully I’ll get into the beta and get to see what it’s all about!
