Guess what? There is another remastered game on the way, and it goes by the name of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. That’s right everyone, your favorite vault-hunters (and Claptrap), are coming to next-gen.
The game will include Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, which covers the Handsome Jack storyline and includes all the extra character customization packs, in addition to the larger campaign add-ons for $60 USD.
DLC is still on the way for Borderlands:The Pre-Sequel, so The Handsome Collection includes a season pass. As new DLC rolls out, you’ll have access to it. You’ll be able to transfer old saves from PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PlayStation Vita to the new games (providing you stick to the same family of machine). The Handsome Collection will also allow you to play four-player split-screen for the first time.
A special-edition “Claptrap-in-a-Box-Edition” for Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is also in the works. It will price at $400 and come with a remote-controlled Claptrap unit that looks and sounds like Claptrap. He is controlled using a free app for Andriod and iOS phones and tablets. This special edition also includes 12 Vault Hunter lithographs.
There will only be 5,000 Claptrap-in-a-Box editions will be sold worldwide.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is set to release in North America on March 24th, and will be available internationally on March 27th. Check out our review for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel here.
I’m excited, but I’m also asking why? My first reaction to this was “another remastered”? Do we need this? Yes, I’m a Borderlands junkie and will purchase and support this, but can we stop with this. Seriously, I think everyone would of waited for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel to have just been next-gen to start with. I was hoping 2014 would of been the end of the remastered but I’m afraid not. Also where is the first game?
