While light on gameplay footage, the live action trailer goes for style points depicting a group of people chasing someone through a forest underscored by a haunting choral piece. The trailer, which is currently airing on television, can be viewed below.
It’s not a secret that I’m a fan of concept trailers, so it should come as no surprise that I loved this new trailer. The imagery is eerie, and the music stuck with me long after I was done watching the trailer. This trailer embedded Evolve on me in a way that I don’t think a purely in-game footage trailer could have. While I think featuring in game footage in game trailers is important as a way to show consumers what they are going to be in for, I certainly applaud 2K for taking an artistic leap with this commercial. Here’s hoping more game trailers follow suit!
