The announcement was made in an interview with Eurogamer about the recent leak of a ten minute video (now deleted) showing gameplay of Rainbow Six Siege. In the interview, a Ubisoft representative stated that the leak was due to a preview of the game to the media and that someone must of recorded gameplay.
Ubisoft later stated, via a press release, that there will be a closed beta for Rainbow Six Siege arriving later this year to players who preorder the game. The press release reads as follows:
“You can now pre-order Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege to get access to the Closed Beta later on this year. Stay tuned for more information on the Closed Beta in the coming months.”
Ubisoft announced Rainbow Six Siege at E3 last year but they have not revealed much information about the game. All we currently know is that it will be available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and it is slated for a 2015 release, although the exact date is still unknown.
Sadly I was unable to see the gameplay footage, however, from what I’ve heard about it, it seems like it was a great video. In regards to the beta, I think it’s an awesome idea and I can’t wait to play it. Hopefully we hear about this game at E3!
