The peripheral manufacturer was previously announced as the creator of the game’s wireless instruments. However, with this new announcement, they will also handle global sales, promotion, and distribution of the game. Harmonix themselves will handle digital sales and the game content.
No release date has been announced but the game will be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in the US and European territories simultaneously, as confirmed by Harmonix PR Lead Nick Chester on Twitter. Mad Catz Global PR Director Alex Verrey also teased the game being at E3 2015.
We’re excited to be working closely with Harmonix and I can promise you that as soon as you see the game for yourselves, you’ll also be excited as we are now! Roll on E3!
I wondered how Harmonix was going to publish this game on their own, considering that they always needed help in the past. This answers that and seeing as Mad Catz were doing the peripherals already, it feels like a good fit.
