Good news for anyone outside of Japan itching to battle some Pokémon; Pokken Tournament now has a release date.
A North American and European release date has been revealed. It will launch on March 18th exclusively for Wii U. Not only is that very soon, it is also the Japanese launch date. Usually there is a brief gap between the Japanese and Western release.
Pokken Tournament pits Pokémon against Pokémon in a Tekken-esque fight. So far the game has 15 characters, with three of them announced just a few days ago. With the release date closing in, only time will tell if the roster is expanded further.
On top of that, 2016 is the 20th anniversary for Pokémon and Nintendo has shown no intention of ignoring the important date.
I do not have the love for the Pokémon franchise that others do, but I do somewhat enjoy the idea of Pokémon duking it out in real time combat.
