Gears of War 4 is expected to hit this year, but it’s possible to play it a bit early with a beta coming to Xbox One.

This morning Microsoft and The Coalition announced that a Gears of War 4 Beta will hit Xbox One on April 18th.

Those who have played Gears of War: Ultimate Edition in Xbox One or Windows 10 will get a key that will allow you to get into the beta when it launches. The early access will begin on April 18th, while a open beta for certain Xbox Gold Members will be on April 25th.

Gears of War 4 will be set 25 years after the events of Gears of War 3 and it will star Marcus Fenix’s son, JD.

Gears of War 4 is scheduled to arrive later this year exclusively for the Xbox One with a possibility of a PC release.

My Opinion:

The Gears of War series is one of my favorite series for the Xbox, and while I won’t be able to be a part of the beta, it is another game that makes me wish I also had an Xbox One. I’ll be checking out gameplay footage once the beta hits and see what changes they made.
