MONG Game of the Month June 2016

People and sentient AI of the internet, today is the day. MONG’s writers and editors have gathered, deliberated, and concluded that June’s game of the month is…

LEGOs and Star Wars — when does that combination not win? LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the game that every kid wishes and yearns for when they’re younger. More of a Star Wars game that happens to be LEGO than a LEGO Star Wars game — LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens brought back a nostalgic feeling of the days where Star Wars’ games were actually palatable and more than just a license cash in. In all seriousness — is there anything better than playing as LEGO Poe Dameron? The answer is…of course not.

When Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens released on June 28th, it did the one thing many game’s before it in the month failed to do: make me resurface from the trenches of Hearts of Iron IV, halting a three week binge. Staying faithful to J.J. Abram’s movie, but also adding the classic LEGO game twist, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens has dense levels pack full of fun (and surprisingly deep) puzzles, excellent dog fighting, and all the charm and crackerjack humor you’ve come to expect from LEGO games. TT Games has done what many other developers have inspired to do: make a great game that is also fun for all ages.

Did I mention LEGO Poe Dameron?
