The hotly talked about new Ghostbusters film is releasing in theaters this Friday. If you are looking to experience Ghostbusters action firsthand, a new game from Activision is now available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Simply titled Ghostbusters, the game is not tied-in directly with the new movie, but the story takes place after the events of the film. It does feature a new squad of playable Ghostbusters, both male and female in four-player local co-op action. Each unique character has the ability to switch weapons during battle and the game features new and classic characters like Gertrude Aldridge and Slimer. Watch the launch trailer below.

My Opinion:

It seems a bit weird with the game releasing days before the new movie hits theaters, it wouldn’t tie in directly with the film and feature the new cast as playable characters or at least have them make appearances. Perhaps it is for the better, as movie licensed games have a bad track record.  Although it seems the new game has not generated the same amount of discussion as the movie has.
