Rollercoaster Dreams is exactly what it sounds like: an amusement park management game. In it you create your own amusement parks, build your own roller coasters, manage your park, and most importantly set prices for your snow cones.
Over on the PlayStation Blog, President of Bimboosoft, Hirofumi Hattori, revealed that not only will you be building your own amusement park, but that you will be able to visit amusement parks made by other players from all over the world. Hattori also added that while virtual reality is optional, it is the superior experience.
Here’s a full outline of the game, courteous of its official website:
- Virtual Reality Support – With PlayStation VR, you can experience as if you are in the world of the game. Enjoy many attractions and thrilling rollercoasters.
- Full-Scale Management Mode – Of course, playing in the amusement parks is not the game’s only feature. The main mode of the game is to manage and grow amusement parks. Show your management skill by development, advertising, staff management, etc.
- Limitless Rollercoasters – The game has the powerful and limitless rollercoaster editor KALMOF, so players can make infinite patterns of rollercoasters.
A price has yet to be divulged, but Bimboosoft has announced that a demo will be available upon launch.
I lost countless summer hours sitting up in my room building elaborate go kart tracks, charging ridiculously evil prices for restrooms, and sending plebs flying off the tracks of unfinished roller coasters. An amusement park sim on consoles is an incredibly rare and exciting treat — even if the game looks utterly half-baked. The fact that it has VR support is just the cherry atop the cherry.
