In a rare turn of events: Xbox One was the best-selling console in the United States during the month of July.
There has been very little reason to party at Microsoft this generation. The PlayStation 4 has consistently outsold the Xbox One almost each month since the consoles both launched. In 2015, the PS4 notched victories for 10, leaving the Xbox One only a mere 2 times to celebrate.
But not this month — no, this month belongs to the Xbox One.
The news comes from NPD Group’s monthly report for the July. While NPD hasn’t officially released its numbers yet, Microsoft has revealed it won the month.
Good mood Microsoft also revealed that a “total gaming hours on Xbox consoles globally were up 18 percent over last year, reaching 1.55 billion hours.”
We’ll have more on the the July NPD report next week when the group officially releases its hardware and software sales for the month.
My Opinion:
I imagine Microsoft is in full nutter butter and capri sun mode right now. I also imagine with the Xbox One S releasing this month (August), they will notch their first back-to-back victory ever for this console generation. Miracles do happen, kids.
