Cartoon Network: Battle Crashers coming to PS4, Xbox One, and 3DS this November

Action game, Cartoon Network: Battle Crashers is set to arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo 3DS this November.

What is Cartoon Network: Battle Crashers?

It’s a side-scrolling brawler game that is meant to be fun for the whole family. In it you can play solo or four-player drop-in/drop-out local multiplayer with six different characters from the Cartoon Network universe: Finn & Jake (together as a single unit), Clarence, Steven, Gumball, Uncle Grandpa, and Rigby & Mordecai (also together as one unit). The gameplay allows you to combine different heroes’ strengths, and requires you to use all the different character options, as each one is better against certain types of traps or enemies. For example, Clarence is good for extinguishing fires with his soda-gun, while Steven plays a protective role providing shields to the characters around him.

An exact release date was not provided, nor was a price point. Cartoon Network: Battle Crashers is in development by Magic Pockets.

My Opinion:

If this was Rugrats, Rocket Power, Spongebob, Jimmy Neutron, and the rest of the entourage from the golden-age of Nickelodeon, I would be all over it. However, while Clarence and Rigby & Mordecai are awesome, it isn’t enough for me to be excited for what will likely be a lackluster licensed game.

  1. I love arcade action smashers but I was also really hoping the veteran characters of CN (PowerPuff Girls, Johnny Bravo) would have been made available or unlockable as well. Obviously this game is more geared to the younger audience/newer CN gen. Oh well, here’s to hoping!
