Agent 47 is heading to Hokkaido, Japan for his last trip of 2016.
Hitman Episode 6 will be out very shortly: October 31st. It is being billed as the “Season Finale for [Hitman] Season One” and promises to be “the culmination of everything players will have learnt in terms of both gameplay and story.”
The episode is set at the GAMA private hospital and resort and promises traditional Japanese sights such as Zen gardens and a hot spring. There will be two targets, just as there was in the first four episodes, but they have yet to be revealed. This is notable, as the target identities have always been unveiled along with the episode details.
Hannes Seifert, studio head of IO Interactive, had this to say about the conclusion of season one:
“It was a brave decision to go fully digital episodic with Hitman, fundamentally changing how we make the game, and for us it has been a major success. I want to say a big thank you to all the players for making this possible! Together we’ve built and run the biggest and most replayable locations of any Hitman game and added new live content every single week since launch. And although we’re now completing season one, this is only the beginning for our ever expanding World of Assassination.”
The first five episodes of Hitman are available now, and the entirety of season one will be released at retail on January 31st, 2017.
I am excited to see how they conclude this episode. I do find it very interesting that they are keeping the identities of the targets under wraps. I guess I will see very soon. Also, there was supposed to be an additional mini mission that would hit at some point, and it would be bundled with the two from the Summer Bonus Episode for non-season pass holders to purchase. I wonder if that plan has been quietly cancelled.
