Last night at The Game Awards 2016, Geoff Keighley presented Hideo Kojima with the Industry Icon Award. During the speech, Kojima also made a surprise reveal presenting a new trailer for his new game Death Stranding.
The new trailer seems to show off two new characters. One played by Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth) and another played by Mads Mikkelsen (Doctor Strange, Hannibal). It shows the del Toro character carrying what seems to be an incubator with a baby inside trying to hide from the military. Mikkelsen seems to be playing the one in charge of a group of soldiers that he controls by cords. It’s a short trailer that has way more questions than answers. It’s unknown when the game will be out, but Kojima tweeted out that the game was running on PlayStation 4 Pro hardware.
It’s unknown when Death Stranding will be out. Kojima is known to take his time on games, so don’t expect it anytime soon. What we do know is that it will be a PlayStation 4 Exclusive.
A new game by Hideo Kojima will automatically be a must play for me. The fact they got Guillermo del Toro and Mads Mikkelsen in this is just icing on the cake. I have no clue one what is going on, but I’m excited for it.
