Since the game’s cancellation was announced, Scalebound’s director has been unusually quiet on Twitter. Recently, he broke the silence to speak to fans.
Earlier this week, news broke that the much-anticipated Scalebound, in development by Platinum Games for Xbox One and PC, had been cancelled. Hideki Kamiya, the game’s director, has now taken to Twitter to directly address those most disappointed by the news.
Platinum Games has also released a blog post, which mirrors Hideki Kamiya’s sentiments.
My Opinion:
Amidst events that must be disappointing for Platinum, it’s nice to see individuals who were close to the project acknowledging fan disappointment. However, what remains disappointing is that they seem to feel an apology is necessary. There were people far more affected by the game’s cancellation than the many who won’t get to play a game, and we should keep that in perspective.
Jordan Loeffler is Editor in Chief for MONG who drives a 2006 Pontiac Vibe with Minnesota license plates even though he lives in Portland, OR. She’s seafoam green, and she drives like a wave. You can also follow him on IGN and on Twitter.
I was sad to see this happen however my interest in the game was begining to waiver since seeing gameplay last year.
