Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Makes the Switch Over to Nintendo’s New Console

Nintendo’s mini Direct offered a glimpse at titles arriving to the Nintendo Switch in the early part of 2018. Donkey Kong will make his Switch debut when Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze releases in May.

The updated Wii U port will make the switch to Nintendo’s new console May 3 in Japan and May 4 in North America and Europe. This new version will add a beginner friendly mode featuring Funky Kong. Funk Kong comes equipped with varying abilities making the many platforming perils present in the game much easier to overcome. Check out the trailer below.

My Opinion:

It’s not surprising that Nintendo continues to bring over quality Wii U titles, which perhaps didn’t find a large audience on the overlooked Wii U over to the red-hot Nintendo Switch. The Wii U was the only main Nintendo console I didn’t purchase and so many of its best games coming over to the Switch does not have me regretting that decision.
