inFAMOUS First Light seems more like a reply to critics than a standalone title. With inFAMOUS Second Son being released a mere five months ago, Sucker Punch Productions has taken an active step in analyzing what needed improvement and tested it out with Fetch’s own mini-prequel. However, is there enough packed into the vignette to warrant the $15 entry fee? Continue reading inFAMOUS First Light Review
This review has been updated to reflect the Wii U release:
I’m going to admit it right off the bat: I hate Dig Dug. While I’ve always latched on to arcade titles like Pacman, Galaga, and Arkanoid, I was never able to get in to the tunneling sensation.
I have the opposite problem with Image & Form’s SteamWorld Dig — after draining away 10 hours in a day, burning through my lunch, and missing four calls from my girlfriend, it is fair to say I can’t get away from the addictive gameplay.
Lately, indie games and non-major developers have been receiving recognition for wonderful creations that may never had been distributed, let alone created, a few years ago. With the emergence of Nintendo’s eShop, Microsoft’s Xbox Marketplace, and Sony’s PlayStation Network, gamers are quickly loving the change of pace. Demon King Box is one of those games that may never had been created, but boy am I glad it has.

Phantom Breaker: Battlegrounds is an unexpected surprise for such an obscure title. I’m not a huge fan of side-scrolling brawlers (though I’ve played my fair share) and I haven’t heard much about this game before, except that it was previously released in 2013 for the Xbox Live Arcade on Xbox 360. Despite this, Phantom Breaker: Battlegrounds provided one of the best casual gaming experiences I had in a long time with its re-release on the PlayStation Vita.
I speculatively started up Metrico — like many people, math was never my forte. In fact, video games were normally my escape whenever I was bogged down with algebra homework. That said, the idea of a game based on the artstyle behind “infographics” had me intrigued; could Digital Dreams make a competent video game based off of unique theme? Continue reading Metrico Review
Death is a common occurrence in Rogue Legacy. Between the title screen and the game over screen you will lose your cool; however, it’s in these moments of frustration where the triumph will compel you to continue playing, even after your 400th death. Rogue Legacy is challenging, but it becomes an addictive, challenging platformer. Continue reading Rogue Legacy Review
Ninjas. The silent killers among Japan are revered for their infiltration, espionage, and assassination skills. They are feared among the world for their reach and power. However, Lego Ninjago: Nindroids breaks that mindset down with a fun, action-packed, and whimsical type of ninja (along with an equally fun, action-packed, and whimsical game).
