Many people play titles like The Sims or Sim Theme Park the way the game is meant to be played — creating complex lives and environments for the simulated people to enjoy. A more vocal minority take to these simulations and bring death and destruction to any NPC that they can. Frontier and Microsoft Studios newest Xbox exclusive, Scream Ride, is giving players just that.
At Microsoft’s Gamescom Press Conference, Scream Ride’s trailer was revealed showing off all the sadistic-theme park action.
The trailer starts out normal enough–some dark tones echo as they show how players are able to construct roller coasters and rides like in RollerCoaster Tycoon or Sim Theme Park. However, that’s when things go off the rails (excuse the pun).
Bodies and roller coaster carts go flying off the tracks, only to hit the pavement below or nearby buildings. The goal of the game is to generate the most screams, despite concerning yourself with the safety of the passengers.
Scream Ride will be heading to Xbox One and Xbox 360 sometime in Spring 2015.
This game is my spirit animal. I’m glad the people at Frontier know how people play their games and are giving in to the dark side. All they need is a torture-chamber themed Sims title and I’ll be sold. Don’t judge me, you do it too.
