The downloadable content is comprised of four themed car packs — each with their own accompanying missions. The first pack will be called the “Extreme Car Pack” and is planned for release in January 2015. This will be followed by “Speed, Vintage and Raid Car Packs” to be released in February, March and April respectively.
The cost of these packs will be $6.99 each, or $24.99 for the season pass. As an added bonus, season pass holders will get each pack a week early and two exclusive cars at launch — the Ferrari 458 Speciale and the McLaren 12C.
Ubisoft will release new missions with the car packs that will “fit with the pack’s theme.” In addition, twenty three additional tuning kits, official paintjobs and rims and stickers for each car will be available – all as part of the season pass.
Whilst the official release date of The Crew is December 2nd, a closed beta is currently running until November 10th. If you were able to obtain a code, now is the time to see what this game has to offer. The Crew will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
I am a big racing fan but still have some reservations about The Crew. I have access to the Beta this weekend and look forward to trying it out. The concept is a good one, but the foundations of any racer is the handling. As far as DLC goes, this seems pretty standard nowadays, but I will reserve judgement until we know what cars we are getting in each pack.
