God of War Dev Santa Monica Studio Ups Hiring Efforts

During the Playstation Experience, Santa Monica Studio game director Cory Barlog let news slip on the development of the next God of War game.

It appears that Santa Monica Studio is ramping up production of said game according to listings and ads on their site.

Going to the careers page on their site brings up a list of current openings, which includes a level designer, senior Maya programmer, senior staff gameplay programmer, a senior system administrator, and more. It appears they are looking for several new staff to help them lead this new project.

Interestingly, these positions are open after layoffs hit the studio a few months ago. Long-time creative director Stig Asmussen also left the studio around that time. It was rumored that a game that had long been in development had been cancelled. Perhaps the studio decided it was best to play it safe and return to their most popular franchise. Hopefully we’ll hear more about their new God of War game some time next year.

My Opinion:

I can’t wait to hear more about God of War. MAKE IT AS FAST AS YOU CAN, SANTA MONICA STUDIO. I NEED IT. My love for that series is undying. I’ve platinumed every one of them and I can’t wait to dive into God of War on PlayStation 4.
