EA Dominates the UK No. 1 Charts for 2014

Electronic Arts dominated the UK’s All-Formats Charts last year, spending 22 weeks at the top.

EA dominated mainly because of the popularity of FIFA 14 and FIFA 15, which spent 15 weeks at the top between them. Titanfall, The Sims 4 and EA Sports UFC also topped the charts for EA.

Activision came second with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Destiny and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Meanwhile, Ubisoft came third with Watch_Dogs and South Park the Stick of Truth.

Neither Nintendo, Microsoft, Konami, SEGA, Capcom or Bandai Namco secured a No. 1 place at all during 2014.

My Opinion:

I’m not surprised EA won, all of the UK is obsessed with FIFA, but I am definitely surprised by how long it dominated. I mean 22 weeks is ridiculous. There are also some surprise entries on the list like The LEGO Movie Videogame. I’m not surprised Nintendo or Microsoft didn’t appear because this list is across all platforms and they’re only selling to 30% of that audience.
