Sony Gives PS4 Owners 15 Reasons to be Excited for 2015

While Sony achieved record success with sales of the PlayStation 4 in 2014, many gamers found big, exclusive titles for the system lacking.  Sure there were standouts like Infamous Second Son and The Last of Us Remastered, but last year saw the delay of The Order: 1886, numerous issues with the launch of Driveclub, and no real system-selling exclusive for the holiday season.  What seemed to drive the success for the PS4 right out of the gate was largely due to three factors from my estimation.

First was the thirst for gamers eager to start a new console generation.  This is evidenced by robust sales not only for the PS4, but by the Xbox One as well.  Second was the tremendous goodwill Sony had built up with fans early on, especially compared to the the earlier tactics taken by Microsoft before they reversed course.

Lastly, the system launched with a lower price point than the Xbox One, while also possessing superior hardware in the eyes of some.  It is no coincidence that when Microsoft significantly lowered the price of the Xbox One, they started to beat the PS4 in sales.

Early adopters of the PS4 have been eagerly awaiting the promise of things to come. Now in 2015, it looks like Sony is on the path to fulfilling that promise.  In the video below, Sony offers a quick look at 15 console exclusive titles scheduled for the new year.

My Opinion:

Personally, I am excited for many of the titles featured in the video.  Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End being chief among them.  What I really like is the fact it features an eclectic mix of games.  You have everything from the teen horror chills of Until Dawn to the weirdly fascinating The Tomorrow Children.  2015 is definitely the year I make the leap and purchase a PlayStation 4.
