Update:

CD Projekt RED‘s official Witcher Twitter account (@witchergame) tweeted at us and confirmed that 16 hours of motion capture were recorded.  However, as we suspected,  not all of it will appear in the game.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt wouldn’t be a mature fantasy game, or a Witcher game for that matter, if it didn’t include a few sex scenes.  However, it sounds like CD Projekt RED’s newest game may have a bit more sex than we bargained for.

According to The Guardian, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt boasts around 16 hours of sexual content.  While the type of sexual content has not been detailed, CD Projekt RED feels as though they are approaching this gaming taboo with aplomb.

“Through sex we have shown that this is a person who Geralt would be compelled to chase after if she went missing. Sex is the quickest way in which to establish the relationship and provide a justification for the player to pursue this woman,” Senior Game Designer Damien Monhier said.

It’s unlikely that the game will ship with 16 hours of sex scenes when it hit shelves on May 19th, however it seems that sex may play a sizeable role in the experience.

My Opinion:

Very rarely have I played a game where sex seems like a necessary addition, however I do think that the stigma sex has when it comes to video games is a bit ridiculous.  Still, 16 hours of motion captured sex is a lot…
