Hotline Miami 2 Release Date Revealed Via Phone Number

The release date for Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number has been revealed in a most cryptic and ingenious fashion. A few hours ago, the title’s official Twitter account posted a message containing the following telephone number:

Calling the number results in a largely indistinguishable message. Following distorted speech, a clearer voice proclaims:

“Together we March, March, into the future. You have reached the Wrong Number.”

Remaining on the line results in a woman’s voice saying goodbye and the line being disconnected.

It is clear from the message that the word “March” is accentuated. This accentuation and the context it holds allows us to assume that the message refers to the game’s release. It is also likely the extension (10) refers to the specific date of March 10th, 2015.

While no official word has come from either developer Dennaton Games or publisher Devolver Digital, it seems safe to say: get your masks ready.

My Opinion:

This has to be one of the most creative methods I have seen to announce a release date, and definitely the most interactive. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is one of my most anticipated games of the year, and I am ecstatic to see that its release is in sight.

  1. I’m happy about that. I love the first game and still play it from time to time. I’m also happy the developer took his time rather than churning out a second edition in 3 months like Five Nights.
