Square Enix has released a short commercial for the upcoming demo, which you can see below.
In case you’re unaware, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will release on March 17th on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game is a remaster of the PSP game that released exclusively in Japan and is the first M-rated entry in the Final Fantasy series.
You’ll get access to the Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae demo you see in the trailer if you pre-order or get your hands on a first-run copy of Type-0 HD. If you’re a big fan or collector, a Collector’s Edition was recently announced as well.
Final Fantasy XV does not have a scheduled release date as of yet. Keep an eye out here for the latest news on the Final Fantasy series, including our impressions of the Episode Duscae demo once it arrives!
This reminds me a lot of the Dragon’s Dogma/Resident Evil 6 demo dilemma. It quickly became “Buy Resident Evil 6 demo, get a free copy of Dragon’s Dogma!” on the internet. This wasn’t something Capcom themselves did, though. In this situation, however, it seems like Square Enix is taking it all the way- advertising the demo more so than the game it’s packaged with. Who honestly knows what Square is doing, though? We’re talking about the company that doesn’t understand that they could remove their troubled shackles by simply giving their fans a remake of a 1990s Final Fantasy game.
