Avalanche Studios’ long in-development title Mad Max finally has a release date.
Players will get to control Max in a post-apocalyptic wasteland on September 1st. The game was revealed in 2013 and then was delayed last year. We have not heard a word since then, and in this gap Avalanche has also announced Just Cause 3. The game just re-emerged over at Game Informer and more will be revealed about the game over the course of this month.
Along with the announcement of a release date, Avalanche also announced a pre-order bonus. Pre-ordered copies of the game will come with bonus upgrades to Magnum Opus, Max’s prized vehicle.
Anyone looking forward to playing Mad Max on an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 should brace for disappointment; those versions of the game have been cancelled. The game will now launch only on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
My Opinion:
Releasing Mad Max and Metal Gear Solid V on the same day seems like a ridiculous idea. I know it causes conflict for me; I love both franchises and both games are some of my most anticipated of 2015. Even so, I am glad this game is not stuck in development like I thought it was.
