To say the release of Mighty No. 9 has been a long time coming would be an understatement. Yet, after numerous delays a launch seems to be right around the corner.
In a post to the Mighty No. 9 blog, creator Keiji Inafune announced Mighty No. 9 has gone gold and is scheduled to release June 21st (North America and Asia) and June 24th (Worldwide). The launch is for the console and PC versions of the game, with the PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS versions arriving at a later date. Keiji Inafune had this to say about the impending release.
” It has been almost three years since the start of our Kickstarter campaign, which was only made possible through the support of our backers and fans around the world. This is a project where everyone’s passions were combined in order to create something very special, and we are looking forward to delivering the final product to everyone who was involved. There can be no stronger connection between game creators and game fans.”
I’m just glad that anyone anticipating this game, will finally be able to play it soon. Here’s hoping the finished product will be able to somewhat justify the long wait, a wait that still isn’t over for any gamer looking to play on a portable console.
