MONG Game of the Month May 2016

It’s that time of month again folks! MONG’s writers and editors have gathered, deliberated, and decided that the game of the month for May is…

Was there ever a doubt? When Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End released on May 10th the whole PlayStation gaming world halted — every other game around it momentarily ceased to exist — it was time to sit down and crunch Nathan Drake’s last hoorah.

The last chapter of Nathan Drake’s story is as grand, near-flawless, and bar-setting as you would expect it, and at this point, quintessential Naughty Dog. Continuing from The Last of Us, Naughty Dog demonstrates in Uncharted 4 why it’s widely hailed as the best storyteller in the business. But Uncharted 4’s achievement doesn’t solely exist upon its story: it has a level of visual fidelity that no game has achieved to date, scenes straight from National Geographic, four iterations of polish, and a sense of spectacle never seen before.

The new marquee title on the PlayStation 4, Uncharted 4 did what many other games have bungled in the past, and that’s finish on a high note. It’s safe to bet, come December Uncharted 4 will be on a many of tongues for GOTY.
