Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 looks poised to re-release on PlayStation 4, according to a new leak.
The leak comes in form of a revealed trophy set on exophase that popped up alongside a similar trophy set leak for Dead Rising.
This could either indicate a remaster is on the way, or some sort of re-release/port. Whatever the case, the fact that it has trophies means it likely isn’t very far off.
Published by Activision and developed by Vicarious Visions, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 and its predecessor were a unique set of action RPG/Brawler games. However, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 wasn’t as critically or commercially successfully as its predecessor when it released September 15, 2009 — garnering a 74 on Metacritic.
Here’s an official description of the game:
“Incorporating elements of the acclaimed Marvel Civil War storyline, the game (Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2) allows players to choose their side and team up with revered heroes and villains, including Spider-Man, Wolverine, Hulk, Iron Man, Deadpool, Venom, Green Goblin and Captain America. Players can combine characters’ powers and unleash astonishing new attacks.”
Activision have yet to comment on the leak, and until then all we can do is hope that if Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is indeed coming to PlayStation 4, that its not given a similar treatment to Activision’s last PS4 re-release — I’m looking at you Prototype.
My Opinion:
2016 has been the heart of superhero zeitgeist. Therefore, it makes sense that the ever acquitize Activision is potentially on the prowl, looking to cash-in.
