Wreckfest coming to PS4, Xbox One; Stunfest announced

Bugbear Entertainment has announced that its Early Access racing game Wreckfest will be making its way to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One soon. Additionally, the developer also announced a new game called Stuntfest.

The game will come to consoles in an Early Access state, a state it’s been on PC since 2014. According to Bugbear, the demolition racer may not be complete on PC, but it will still offer its “best part” on consoles. The game is available for pre-order on console at $39.99.

This news comes following a string of disgruntled user reviews by backers/supporters that have been angry about how the development of the game has been handled so far, citing slow and sparse updates. After all, it’s been in Early Access since 2014..

To make matters perhaps even worse for fans expecting a complete product soon, is the announcement of Stuntfest, which appears set to divide the development team up.

Stuntfest is being pitched as a game where players can build their own stunt arenas via a level-editor, and then complete said levels using crazy vehicles such as scooters and shopping carts. Pre-ordering for this Early Access game has opened up as well.

Bugbear released the following statement with the announcement:

“We’re confident that we will be hitting all the rights chords with our most dedicated fans among both PC and console players, and make no mistake about it: we couldn’t have made it this far without you. Thank you!”

Wreckfest is currently available on PC, a release date on consoles wasn’t provided. Likewise a release date for Stuntfest on consoles and PC was not provided.

My Opinion:

Both of these games have peaked my interested, but I know better than to dabble with games caught in Early Access hell.
