New Final Fantasy VII Remake Collectibles Revealed

Square Enix makes some great games, but it is also known for the fantastic Play Arts Kai action figure line — and these latest items are the most incredible yet. Based on their appearances in the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake, two of the game’s most beloved characters are being recreated in plastic.

Barret Wallace stands tall amongst other Play Arts Kai collectibles, coming in at an incredible 11.6” tall. Big and imposing, his tremendous stature is only slightly less intimidating the the gigantic gun mounted in place of his right hand. Beneath his removable sunglasses is an unusually calm expression, masking the character’s short temper. Barret also includes a transparent display stand and an extra left hand. This one is scheduled for a May 2017 release.

Cloud Strife, the reluctant hero of the story, is considerably shorter than Barret at 10.75” tall. The impossibly massive Buster Sword nearly equals his height, and sports new details for a little extra style. Cloud also comes with three extra sets of hands in addition to a display base. Cloud will be available in April 2017.

Both impeccably sculpted, highly articulated collectible action figures will cost 14,800 Yen (about $125) at retail, and will be available for pre-order at various online importers soon. They will assuredly look fantastic when displayed near the previously revealed Sephiroth and Final fantasy VIII Squall Leonheart Play Arts Kai releases.

My Opinion:

They definitely look great, and the attention to detail is particularly nice. I especially dig the sunglasses.
