Mass Effect: Andromeda Release Date Revealed

One of the most anticipated games of 2017 now has a release date. Bioware has announced that Mass Effect: Andromeda is only a few months away.

After five years since the last game in the franchise, Mass Effect: Andromeda will release March 21st in North America and March 23rd in Europe. General Manager of Bioware, Aaryn Flynn, had this to say about bringing the game to fruition.

“Mass Effect: Andromeda is our most ambitious Mass Effect game to date. We’re telling completely new stories, creating new characters, new planets, new species, and introducing new gameplay systems. And for the first time, we’re bringing Mass Effect to the FrostbiteTM game engine, an incredible engine that’s delivering a tremendous graphical jump from the trilogy to Mass Effect: Andromeda. To deliver on this, we’re taking all the time we can to make sure you’re getting the best possible experience.”

Mass Effect: Andromeda launches for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC in March. As of now there are no plans for a Nintendo Switch version, but EA hasn’t completely ruled it out.

My Opinion:

The release date is sooner than I expected, but a welcome surprise. There has been a lot of speculation over Mass Effect: Andromeda due to the lack of news and gameplay footage shown so far, but it’s nice to hear the developers are confident in their product to release in March. The first few months of 2017 are really shaping up nicely for gamers.
