Nintendo Reveals Most Popular Miiverse Searches Worldwide

Congratulations to Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire for being the most searched for community on Miiverse!

Nintendo revealed on their Japanese Twitter account and on Miiverse that the most popular Miiverse community searches for 2014 were the two new Pokémon remakes. Firstly, the list contains the franchise the communities belong to and then the actual community that was searched for.

The list appears to be one game per franchise, due to some obvious omissions. Please note:

“The rankings are taken as of the end of November.”

  • “These rankings are calculated based on activity worldwide.”
  • “The rankings are for software titles only.” (So “Special” communities don’t count)
  • “The rankings do not include software for which communities exist only in specific regions.”

The three most popular communities are:

  1. PokémonPokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire (3DS)
  2. MarioMario Kart 8 (Wii U)
  3. Animal CrossingAnimal Crossing: New Leaf (3DS)

You can see the Miiverse post below:

Miiverse is Nintendo’s attempt at a social media website; which is separated up into different video-game related communities. A community is an area of Miiverse which is made for gamers to talk about a specific game which has been released on Wii U or 3DS.

To post on Miiverse you need to be in a community. On Miiverse you can take screenshots, of most games, and post them on Miiverse with a caption or drawing. However, you don’t need to take a screenshot to post to Miiverse.

My Opinion:

I enjoy Miiverse though I don’t always post on. I’m not surprised that Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire came first because Pokémon has a huge fan base. Nevertheless, I’m surprised that Call of Duty: Ghosts appeared on the list because I didn’t expect many people to play the game and it came out last year. But then again there aren’t that many different franchises you can play on the Wii U.
