Capcom has revealed that they are releasing a remake of Resident Evil, arriving early 2015. This is an HD remastering of the GameCube version, which was a remake of the original Resident Evil first released in 1996 for the original PlayStation.
The new Resident Evil remake will be in 1080p and you will have a choice between 4:3 ratio and 16:9 widescreen. There is even a choice between classic controls or a new control scheme that will make the game easier to control with its fixed camera.
Resident Evil was one of the pioneering franchises of the survival horror genre. Since then, Resident Evil remained one of the biggest franchises in gaming. Even Resident Evil 4 changed the way games were played when it was released in 2005.
The new Resident Evil Remake will be arriving digitally early 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360.
My Opinion:
The original Resident Evil was one of the first games I played on the original PlayStation and I’ve been a fan of the series ever since. While I would have liked to see a remake of Resident Evil 2, this will do just fine. I never got the chance to play the GameCube version so this is great for me. If this does well, I hope it shows Capcom that we would like to see a Resident Evil 2 remake and that over-the-top action doesn’t fit with the world of Resident Evil.
