Destiny Number Players Revealed

Over the weekend, a month after Destiny was released, Bungie has revealed the total player numbers that Destiny has overall. It even surpasses Halo 3 and Halo: Reach.

Destiny has had an average of 3.2 million players every day since it was launched in early September. Other numbers that Bungie released show even more good news for the new IP.

  • Destiny averages 3.2 million players each and every day!

  • Average playtime is still around 3 hours a day, even on weekdays, one month after launch

  • The average player plays Destiny 1.8 times a day

  • The average player played Destiny 20.9 times

  • Over the past three weeks, we’ve had more players online in Destiny than we did during the same span for Halo 3 and Halo: Reach, combined.

Bungie is hoping to take the next step for Destiny as they are listening to player feedback, preparing to release its first DLC, and continue to hold events for Destiny.

Destiny can be played on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. If you are still unsure about Destiny, you can read our review here.

My Opinion:

These are very impressive numbers, but it should be no surprise that Destiny will have more players than the Halo games. This is because Destiny is on four different consoles, while the Halo games are on one. Still, this proves that Bungie has a sure fire hit on their hands. With more Events and DLC coming, I can see that fans of the game will be playing Destiny for a long time coming.
