Life can be many things: Sad, beautiful, depressing, joyous. For developer Dontnod Entertainment’s latest game, Life Is Strange. In the follow-up to their first title, Remember Me, Life Is Strange tells an episodic story over five parts. Players are thrust into the role of young protagonist Maxine who returns to her hometown after being gone for many years. She reconnects with her best friend Chloe and they team up to investigate the disappearance of Chloe’s friend Rachel.
In the first developer diary titled ‘A New Beginning,’ we meet the many people behind the creation of the game, and discover the thought process behind the setting, atmosphere, and themes present in Life Is Strange. Watch the video below for more insight into the world of Life Is Strange.

The first part releases on January 30th for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
My Opinion:
Life Is Strange seems like a really unique concept, and I applaud the developers for sticking to their creative vision. They chose to use a female lead in Remember Me, and did the same here, despite opposition from some publishers. It is good to hear that Square Enix supports Dontnod and let them do their thing. Video games can operate and explore a wide variety of genres and gameplay experiences. The more diversity in the medium, the better.

Looking at this, I get more and more afraid of French devs. That goes for UBIsoft too.
