Ubisoft’s CEO, Yves Guillemot, has stated that Ubisoft’s studios are working closer to ensure that delays will not happen as often as they have in the past
Guillemot also stated that all games currently slated for release this year should be released this year, without any delays. In the past couple of years, Ubisoft have delayed several of their high profile games, like Watch Dogs and The Division. However, with this new news, this means that Tom Clancy’s The Division will be releasing this year, as well as Clancy’s other game Rainbow Six Siege.
Ubisoft also announced that there will be an Assassin’s Creed game releasing this year. This should not come as a surprise considering the leak late last year of the supposedly next instalment of Assassin’s Creed, Assassin’s Creed: Victory. Although, they failed to confirm the title of the next game in the franchise.
I guess it’s good to hear Guillemot being confident about Ubisoft’s upcoming release dates, especially after the last couple of years where they have delayed several games. It’s also good to hear that the studios are working together to ensure that games do not get delayed, but I feel like it’s ridiculous that the studio’s were not working closely together beforehand. But, It is great to see The Division still being slated for release this year. I can’t wait for it!
