Microsoft seems proud of their Games with Gold initiative this month, as they announced the three games for March, plus a little something extra for April.
For the Xbox One, #IDARB will be replaced by Rayman Legends, a 4-player co-op adventure that follows the titular limbless hero as he saves princesses and Teensies through several worlds. Rayman Legends will make its run all the way through the month of March.
The two Games with Gold for the Xbox 360 will be AAA titles from early 2012 that received high praise at the time. Tomb Raider, which will be free from March 1-15, is the reboot of the classic platforming series that features Lara Croft as she transforms from an archeology student to a badass tomb raider. BioShock Infinite, which will replace Tomb Raider for the remainder of March, is the spiritual successor to BioShock that follows Booker DeWitt as he travels to Columbia to save a girl in order to wipe away his debt.
The bigger announcement is that players have downloaded over 100,000,000 titles through Games with Gold since its initial release at E3 last year. Thus, in celebration, April will see twice the titles for the program. That means that two Xbox One games and four Xbox 360 games will be free for the month of April.
Even though I barely touch my Xbox One these days, I will definitely take the time to get these games. I love Rayman Legends on the PlayStation 4, and I loved getting BioShock Infinite on the Xbox 360. I can’t wait to pick up Tomb Raider as well. What games do you wish would be on the Games with Gold program in April, since we are getting double the deals?
